FRAG Ireland Plays For Charity

Force Recon Airsoft Group – Ireland, organized an airsoft event for the benefit of those who were affected by super typhoon “Ondoy” which brought a month’s worth of rainfall to Metro Manila and nearby areas in just a few hours, causing severe flooding which resulted in the loss of many lives and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people. Eight days later, Typhoon “Pepeng” struck the northern regions causing more damage. Kudos to FRAG Ireland for this generous activity. FRAG Hits Second Anniversary

It was a sure hit for Force Recon Airsoft Group (FRAG) when it celebrated its second anniversary through a 5-man speedball tournament last Sunday, October 4 at Camp Lauriel, Patag.

The airsoft group of Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines was organized also with a game at Malasag Hills on October 6, 2007 by its initial members of six airsoft players and enthusiasts.  Now the group has grown into forty members, with a strength and esprit de corps that boasts of participation to several tournaments, self-organized special military simulations and the regular Sunday skirmishes.

The anniversary speedball tournament, aptly named Operation WHAM (War, Harmony and Music) marked the solidarity and comradeship of the members of the group who sported matching uniforms (and even face paint) to their respective team names of local bands and songs.  The games were participated in by seven teams and the event was supported by Team Star whose members acted as marshalls.

Fellowship Night after the Games

Corporate sponsor for the tournament was Smart Telecoms, while FRAG Dublin donated some funds for the fellowship dinner at Dave Agudo’s residence.
