Acceptable Safety Gears

We have just constructed a “killhouse” at our gamesite at Camp Lauriel, which will encourage our members to learn and experience Close Quarter Battle (CQB) scenarios. Earlier, FRAG-COM have implemented strict guidelines with regards to gun fps (feet per second) readings to avoid members and guest from getting serious injuries. Safety gears will be required for members and guests who will enter the killhouse. Below are the “acceptable” safety head gears that should be worn by the members/guests in CQB situations.

New Rules for F.R.A.G. Games

New Game Site Rules for F.R.A.G.: (Camp Lauriel)

1. All guns must pass through the chono test for classification.

2. Guns with a chrono reading above 410 fps will be tagged with a yellow tape on the barrel.

3. Guns tagged as yellow cannot go beyond or into designated areas with yellow flags or marks.

4. Violators will automatically be DISQUALIFIED for that game.

5. All other guns with chrono reading below 410 fps will have no tags and can move anywhere.

6. Guns with the fps below 410 are the only ones allowed to enter the kill house.

These rules were formulated to avoid unnecessary injuries to players. These rules will only apply to Camp Lauriel. With our new game site structures, we have to be strict in implementing them. Lets all have fun and enjoy the hobby we love.

Airsoft Battle Wounds

This happens when you run into a well organized ambush. (420-450 fps)

CINCFRAG’s battle wounds. Team 1 and 3 runs into an ambush by Team 2 and 5.

M4A1 to M733

Tired of your M4A1 design? Make it short to have a newer look — like an M733!!

The XFire M4A1 barrels are shorter (70 mm) than normal outer barrel. For M4A1(Old & New) .14mm Negative screw. This barrel size is as same as the M733. Made of Duralmin to make it light but strong. All machined. One piece Model. Inner barrel size is 303mm. The barrel of the Xfire is kinda “fat”, for durability. So you need to remove/detach your fuse holder.

Which is better, Airsoft or Paintball?

I find this comparison funny. Though for me, Airsoft rules!!

Prepare for the REVOLUTION!!

UPDATED!! Buckle your seatbelt, as the Revolution is going to hit hard. SYSTEMA is proud to announce new development of a revolutionary gearbox system (for Version 2 guns) that will bring AEG performance level to new heights. Be prepared to experience the SYSTEMA Revolution!

State-of-the-Art Technology — The SYSTEMA Revolution represents the pinnacle of AEG gearbox development while maintaining 100% Ver.2 compatiblity!

» Guaranteed 100% backward-compatible with Tokyo Marui (TM) AEG bodies.
» Direct drop-in replacement for many other AEGs that complies with the TM Version-2 Mecha Box Specification.
»Advanced fire-control electronics and power-regulating MOSFET circuits.
» New loading mechanism /nozzle design.
» Hand-tuned high-output motor precisely matching the new gearbox’s gear ratio.
» Extremely tight manufacturing tolerance ensures superior performance, shot after shot.

Advanced Firing Control— The SYSTEMA E.C.U. (Electronic Control Unit) is a direct decendentof the PTW’s fire control unit, specifically tuned for the Revolution:

»Factory pre-programmed electronic triggersystem.
»Optical sensor array constantly monitors gearbox operation, precisely applying power (and braking) to the motor so that the gearbox will always cycle completely at every trigger pull. This new function entirely eliminates the need for anti-reversal latch.
»Using optical sensor to precisely determine the position/rotations of the gears, the Revolution is also capable of providing the world’s most reliable 3-shot burst operation. No more fiddling with inconsistent “timer based” burst mechanism!
» MOSFET regulated power delivery circuit ensures stable and consistent performance.

Performance and Reliability — Innovation is only half the story. The SYSTEMA Revolution will also far exceed the current standard in terms of performance and reliability:

»New nozzle design eliminates breakage-prone (and decade-old) tappet plates.
»High-strength, all steel gear set ensures reliable operation year after year.
»Full-length steel rack gear greatly extends piston life.
»Top quality components used throughout.
»Factory-backed U.S. warranty when installed by a certified SYSTEMA Gunsmith.

House Bill 3426 confuses Airsofters

A bill proposed by Congressman Rufus Rodriguez (PMP-UNO Cagayan de Oro) created confusion around the Philippine airsoft community lately. The Press Release made by Rowena Bundang, totally contradicts the real purpose of the bill. Please read …

Solon wants production and sale of imitation firearms banned

Writer: Rowena B. Bundang, PRID

A Mindanao lawmaker is seeking to prohibit the manufacture and sale of toy look-alike or imitation firearms, which he claimed have contributed to the rising criminality in the country.

Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez said there is no law prohibiting the manufacture or production of imitation firearms, which can be used by lawless elements in the commission of crimes against persons.

Rodriguez said his proposal embodied in House Bill 3426 would protect the welfare of citizens.

The proposal defines “toy-alike or imitation firearm” as any imitation of any original firearm which was manufactured, designed and produced since 1898, including toy guns, water guns, replica non-guns and air soft guns firing non-metallic projectiles.

Under the proposal, it shall be unlawful for any person to produce, manufacture, sell, use, ship, transport, give or receive any toy look-alike or imitation firearm unless such firearm contains, or has affixed to it, a marking approved by the Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry.

The required DTI’s distinctive marking for imitation firearms shall have as an integral part, a permanently affixed, blaze orange pulp inserted in their barrel. Such plug shall be recessed no more than 6 millimeters from the muzzle end of the barrel.

The proposal further provides that the DTI chief may provide for an alternative marking or device for any imitation firearm not capable of being marked and may waive the requirement of any such marking or device for any imitation firearm that will only be used in the theatrical, film or television industry.

Any offenders shall be fined with P50,000 or imprisoned for at least six months, or both at the discretion of the court. The Philippine National Police director-general shall be directed to conduct a study of the criminal misuse of imitation firearms, the bill provides.

If you read closely the Bill proposed by Congress Rufus Rodriguez, it does NOT state that he is against/prohibits airsoft gaming and/or gun replicas. He only wants to regulate its manufacture, sale and use. It further removes the responsibility from the PNP to the DTI (Paragraph 4 of the said article), since it is not a firearm. This bill if passed, it would put us in a better position simply because, rules will be fixed thus easier to abide.

It is therefore erroneous to interpret the act of the good congressman as a “prohibition” on the manufacture, sale and use of replicas as stated in the first two paragraphs of the article written by Rowena Bundang which contradicts the paragrah 5 of the same article which states … it shall be unlawful for any person to produce, manufacture, sell, use, ship, transport, give or receive any toy look-alike or imitation firearm unless such firearm contains, or has affixed to it, a marking approved by the Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry. This would instead work to our advantage.

We would therefore suggest that before we make any conclusions we’d better read and review the real text of the proposed bill. We feel this is no cause for alarm.

We further propose that all airsoft enthusiast throughout the country must unite and have one umbrella organization for us to be able to protect our rights and that our voice will be heard.
